With so many houses to choose from, you may be feeling overwhelmed. We’re going to share our top seven picks for the best dollhouses this year.
7 Best Dollhouses for 2020
1. KidKraft My Dreamy Dollhouse
Spanning three stories with beautiful bright features, the My Dreamy dollhouse is big enough for multiple kids to play at once. Complete with lights, sounds and fun furniture, this is a dollhouse that kids of all ages will love.
KidKraft includes 14 pieces of furniture:
- Vanity with stool

There’s also a working elevator that glides between the first and second floors. Working doors allow dolls to enter and exit the home anytime they want. Speaking of dolls, the My Dreamy house is compatible with 12” dolls, which includes Barbies.
The dollhouse and all of its furniture are made with composite wood. Parents who are worried about assembly will be happy to hear that this dollhouse comes with detailed assembly instructions. But just be forewarned: assembly takes a long time.
- Made of sturdy wood composite material
- Detailed and bright wall backgrounds and floors
- Big enough for multiple kids to play at once
- Barbies and other 12” dolls fit perfectly into this dollhouse
- Assembly takes forever
With a dollhouse of this size and with so many components, it’s not surprising that it takes so long to assemble this dollhouse. But the end result makes it worth it. This is a dollhouse that will give your kids years of use, and it’s big enough for your child and friends to play together.
In our opinion, we think the My Dreamy Dollhouse by KidKraft is the best dollhouse on the market in 2020.
2. KidKraft Uptown Dollhouse
KidKraft’s Girls Uptown dollhouse is huge. We’re talking three stories, five big rooms and two big outdoor spaces. The Girls Uptown dollhouse stands 5 feet tall.
On the bottom floor, you have a swanky living room complete with a fireplace, zebra-patterned sofa, modern lamp, potted plant and keyboard piano. Just outside the living room is the outdoor pool and lounge chair. Take the elevator to the second floor where you’ll find a retro blue kitchen, home office, and a set of stairs leading to the top floor. The top floor includes the bedroom and an outdoor patio area.
The built-in elevator glides to all three floors, and the wood construction ensures years of use. KidKraft includes a whopping 35 accessory pieces.
- Lots of accessory pieces
- Plenty of space for multiple kids to play
- Stands 5 feet tall
- Has a pool and gliding elevator
- Wood construction
- The pool patio takes up a lot of space
One minor drawback with this dollhouse is the design and placement of the pool patio. It takes up a lot of space in the front of the house, which can make it difficult for kids to reach the top floor bedroom without standing on it.
The good news is that this dollhouse is very sturdy, and this issue is nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
3. Barbie 3-Story Townhouse
Barbie’s 3-Story Townhouse isn’t quite as big as the dollhouses from KidKraft, but it’s well-built, includes lots of fun accessories and is perfectly designed to accommodate Barbie dolls.
This three-story house has a rooftop lounge and a modern elevator. There are five rooms total:
- First floor: Kitchen and living room
- Second floor: Bedroom and bathroom
- Third floor: Rooftop lounge
The lounge can be opened or closed and even includes a pop-up umbrella. The house comes with several pieces of furniture and accessories, including:
- Table with two chairs

- Swinging chair
- Kitchen place settings
- Doll-sized tablet
The Barbie 3-Story Townhouse is easy to assemble and even folds up when it’s not in use.
- Easy assembly
- Folds up for easy storage and clean-up
- Comes with furniture and accessories
- Much smaller than other dollhouses
If you’re looking for a big dollhouse, you may want to go with another house on our list. Barbie’s 3-Story Townhouse is just 26” tall, so there isn’t quite as much room for multiple kids to play at once.
Still, this dollhouse is ideal if you don’t want something big and bulky. It folds up, so clean-up is a breeze, and it’s durable to give your kids years of use.

Teamson includes furniture for all four rooms: kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living room. There’s also an elegant balcony off the bedroom area. The dollhouse itself stands 51.5,” so it’s quite tall.
Although assembly still takes a while, Teamson does include step-by-step instructions to make your life easier.
- Easy assembly with step-by-step instructions
- Includes furniture pieces for every room
- Open floor plan for imaginative play
- Durable construction
- Furniture isn’t the best quality
It’s great that Teamson includes furniture with this dollhouse, but some of the pieces come apart after heavy use. Here’s the good news: a little bit of super glue should fix the problem.
If you’re looking for an affordable, durable dollhouse that comes with a lot of accessories, the Teamson Fancy Mansion is a good choice.
6. KidKraft Emily Wooden Dollhouse
The Emily Wooden Dollhouse has a smaller footprint than other KidKraft dollhouses, making it a great option for smaller spaces.
The house has two main floors with a rooftop lounge area. The bottom floor houses the living room and kitchen, while the second floor has a bedroom and bathroom. KidKraft includes all furniture pieces, including a hanging chandelier in the bedroom. All doorways and windows are open to allow for easy viewing into the house.
While the house has as smaller footprint, it’s still large enough to accommodate 12” dolls, including Barbies. Because of its smaller size, this dollhouse is ideal for toddlers.
- Smaller footprint, making it ideal for toddlers and small spaces
- Fits 12” dolls
- Includes furniture pieces
- Easy assembly
- Basic furniture items
None of the furniture pieces light up or make noise – they’re very basic. But this house also comes at a very affordable price point, and the furniture is still well-made.

- Funky design with fashionable accessories
- Shops on bottom floor allow for greater imaginative play
- Three levels, six room and two outdoor areas
- Assembly is challenging
Assembly can be a challenge with this dollhouse. With so many pieces, the entire process can take quite a while. But if you’re patient and follow the directions precisely, you’ll have a dollhouse that your kids will use for years to come.
