Review – From Box to Setup
From the assembly to the fun, the KidKraft Majestic Mansion 65252 dollhouse was simple from the very start. If you’re like most parents, you know that assembling toys can be intimidating – especially with a dollhouse of this size – but it couldn’t have been easier.
The step-by-step instructions help you along the way to make assembly as easy as possible.
When it comes to setting this dollhouse up, I have a few tips that will make assembly a lot easier to handle.
- You will need a small and large screwdriver.
- Allot a large building space, such as your kitchen table, for assembly.
- Read through all of the instructions first before starting.
- Allow 2 – 2 ½ hours for the assembly process.
During assembly, the dollhouse may seem flimsy, but don’t worry: it’s extremely durable. The initial assembly process doesn’t have all of the supports in place until you’re done. Once complete, you will need some help carrying this model to its final sitting place.
Remember, it does weigh over 60 pounds.
In total, there are 320 different pieces that will need to be assembled, so make sure that you have time and remain patient.
Furniture Galore
The KidKraft dollhouse comes with a lot of furniture items. These items make it a lot more fun, and affordable, for kids. In total, there are 34 furniture pieces available, including:

All of these items are made by KidKraft, so they fit perfectly inside of the dollhouse. If you’ve ever had a dollhouse before, you may be able to fit a lot of your most cherished items right inside of this house as well.
KidKraft also sells replacement furniture if you need more décor, or if you lose pieces.
One thing I would like to note is that this house is Barbie-ready. In fact, you can use any doll as long as the dollar isn’t over 12” tall. This will limit you slightly in your doll choices, but all of the most popular dolls will fit perfectly in the house.
Functional Features
Dollhouse “technology” has advanced greatly over the years. This Majestic Mansion dollhouse is just that – a mansion. There are 8 generously-sized rooms for kids to add furniture and make their own.
You can have everything from a kitchen to a living room and bathroom to several bedrooms.
Spanning 3 stories with an attic, there is more than enough space for all of your kid’s items. KidKraft even included a functional elevator so that you can go from the second floor to the third floor with ease.
This is a manual elevator, so no batteries needed.
All occupants will need to climb the initial flight of stairs to get to the second floor of the home.
The bottom floor does have a garage with doors that swing open and closed. This is the perfect choice to keep Barbie and Ken’s vehicle safely stored. The space is much larger in real life than in the product’s pictures, and offers more than enough space to accommodate several automobiles.
The garage does look more like a huge closet than a garage, but that doesn’t take away from the fun.
Being fully functional, the garage and elevator bring a sense of realism to the mansion that many other dollhouses simply don’t have.
Viewing Windows
Large enough for 2 or 3 kids to play with at one time, the mansion incorporates windows fluidly throughout the home. The windows allow all users to be able to see how their doll is interacting inside of the home without having to intrude on the doll’s space.

Fine Details
